Corporal John J. Kundla
Reflections on this veteran's military serviceSubmitted by Jeffrey Kundla
My Father is still one tough Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. He almost lost both legs in Korea. He's a very strong man. Ever since my Mother died in 1999, he's done it all in Lakewood: baseball coach and a crossing guard for 20 years. My only hero is my Father, and it will always be that way. He's 87 now and strong as ever. Semper Fi, Dad, I love you man.
My Dad moved to Lakewood in 1957. He's still in the same house. The Navy doctor told him to move somewhere warm. This is where he ended up. He was was very lucky to keep his legs from his war injuries. He loves nice, quiet Lakewood and his neighbors. (Posted 2017) |
