Mr. Maffitt is being honored November 3rd with a new shower system as our way of saying 'Thank you for your service'. Being a positive member of the Lakewood community, he was nominated for this recognition by another Lakewood resident who was impacted by the good Mr. Maffitt has done for him and the community.

Thomas served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Both children and grandchildren live with him and his wife, Carol, who have altered their retirement lives to be there for their family. Thomas is the neighbor who is always helping others.
 

Thomas Maffitt and his wife, Carol have lived in Lakewood for 46 years. They were both involved in community programs while they raised their two daughters. These days, you can still find the Maffitts at Lakewood High Football games where their grandson and granddaughter both attend.
