Donovan joined the USCG fresh out of High School, He was adamant about his decision and has made his family proud as many other local families and peers. In addition to his letters and ribbons demonstrating technical expertise, to quote the USCG, “He has displayed a 'Can Do' attitude creating an atmosphere of camaraderie encouraging junior members”. He showed outstanding commitment to the local community in Kodiak, AK volunteering more than 45 hours as assistant coach for the Kodiak Football League and 50 hours coaching for the Kodiak middle school wrestling team. His engagement and support encouraged participation of all ages, "bringing families together," all quoted from the USCG. This served as a reminder of the sports community he was raised in Lakewood, CA.
Donovan was raised and grew up in Lakewood, from splashing in the pool as a baby at Del Valle Park to countless nights on the field there with Lakewood Pop Warner to Football and Wrestling all 4 years at Lakewood High School. (Posted 2019) |
